Eyes Wide Open

Eyes Wide Open – Week 2

Here are a few photos taken with my iPhone while out running.  I’m making a concerted effort to capture pictures of things I would normally not stop and take in. There is inspiration everywhere in beautiful nature.  My intention is to post some photos at the end of each week.

A big thanks again to Cyranny’s Cove and her After Eight Moments for the inspiration to begin this project.  She has some great photos so be sure to check them out.

I would love to just sit on one of these very

low hung branches in the shade

What a great oak tree to have in your front yard!

I saw this Blue Heron just paddling in the pond

A beautiful sunset over the Bay

Enjoy your day and keep your eyes wide open!

    Fabulous photo of the heron.
I see so much while out running and I’m often torn between capturing it in a photo or just in my mind! Running is a fabulous activity for being mindful of your surroundings.

Yes Karen I agree. I could not run on a treadmill anymore! What a waste! I love nature and being outside so this is an added bonus to exercise. I’ll try to get more Herons. Plenty of white ones too 😊

I ran(ish) a half marathon distance a couple of weeks back and I was so aware of all the nature around me, it was an awesome run (apart from the fact that it was about 5 miles too far!).
I have never liked treadmill running.

Oh I admire you for doing that! Wow! I’ve never attempted an official distance run. I like to please myself and I vary the route every time. Maybe one day … 😊

It was a crazy idea! I’m lucky in that my village is the start and end point of a half marathon, so it was easy to print off the route and follow it!
The best runs are those when I go out without a plan, just decide at each turning which way next!
