Recovery

Recovery

My capacious heart
Full of affection
Secretes slowly
The love you need
Like an intravenous injection

Your wounded soul
Beaten and bruised
Crying to be nurtured
And healed
No longer misused

Let me nourish
Your spirit and mind
With milk and honey
Infuse them with strength
Until once more entwined

Song Lyric Sunday – Search

Van Morrison – Van the Man – is my favorite artist.  He is still touring and recording amazing albums.  This is a lovely song about searching.  Enjoy!

Philosophers Stone
Van Morrison

Out on the highways and the by-ways all alone
I’m still searching for, searching for my home
Up in the morning, up in the morning out on the road
And my head is aching and my hands are cold
And I’m looking for the silver lining, silver lining in the clouds
And I’m searching for and
I’m searching for the philosophers stone
And it’s a hard road, Its a hard road daddy-o
When my job is turning lead into gold
He was born in the back street, born in the back street Jelly Roll
I’m on the road again and I’m searching for
The philosophers stone
Can you hear that engine
Woe can you hear that engine drone
Well I’m on the road again and I’m searching for
Searching for the philosophers stone
Up in the morning, up in the morning
When the streets are white with snow
It’s a hard road, it’s a hard road daddy-o
Up in the morning, up in the morning
Out on the job
Well you’ve got me searching for
Searching for, the philosophers stone
Even my best friends, even my best friends they don’t know
That my job is turning lead into gold
When you hear that engine, when you hear that engine drone
I’m on the road again and I’m searching for the philosophers stone
It’s a hard road even my best friends they don’t know
And I’m searching for, searching for the philosophers stone

Kingdom

Kingdom

He dominated his kingdom
As a true ruler never should
playing dominoes with servants
whenever he could

Although his indomitable skill
Preceded him in the land
His Dominican queen
could never understand

As head of the domicile
She banned it by demand
His passion for a stupid game
So random and unplanned

Her boredom was of the play
That never tested his skills
Just a game of luck she said
You should work on the treasury bill

Pressured by the queen’s wisdom
Which was pure omniscience
He finally let the dominoes fall
Terrified of her malificence

Eyes Wide Open – Week 12

Eyes Wide Open

I had some interesting finds for this week’s Eyes Wide Open.  I hope you enjoy these photos taken with my iPhone.

Have a great Saturday!

A beautiful gate to an equally beautiful property

Pretty Dog Sculpture

Another gate, but to where?

A lovely place to run.  I am very lucky!

I found this thoughtful sign on the nature trail in a local park.

There is even a delightful poem about a tree!

Just one of this week’s wild and beautiful sunsets

Mine

Mine

The feeling was involuntary
Impossible to hold back
Encompassing my body
In a gradual attack

Filling my heart with love
To be poured over you
In sensual oils to massage
And the kiss of morning dew

Tied in silk ribbons
Your limbs I will bind
So you will stay forever
Lady Justice is blind

Date

Date

Early morning light
Streaks through the curtain
Another day dawning
That’s all that is certain

Sarah lies in her bed
Remembering what occurred
The events of the previous night
Have left her somewhat disturbed

“What happened?” she thought
Everything was going so great
Andrew was delightful
Considering it was a blind date

They had gone to a restaurant
For an early dinner and talk
Then a movie to follow
And a stroll on the boardwalk

Andrew had become romantic
And leaned in to kiss
She reciprocated the action
It was a moment of bliss

It lasted just a moment
And then he doubled over in pain
What was the problem?
She could not ascertain

After some endless moments
Sarah realized what was amiss
He’d eaten the lamb curry
It wasn’t the kiss

The hospital emergency room
Was where they eventually parted
They likely wouldn’t meet again
Dating is not for the faint hearted
