History Repeats
The District is not Caesar’s Rome
The Hill is not one of the seven
Yet the Senators
are deadly and evil
as they were BC
These devils hide and reside
in hallowed halls of DC
with daggers cloaked
unseen
Preparing to execute
their dastardly deeds
Hell is in our politics
disguised in grey hair
and old man suits
Standing on the shoulders of women

I love your imagery. I can see them skulking in the corridors like vampires afraid of sunlight keeping to the shadows
Yes! “Behind your back” politics
My poem today is a little similar.
😄😄
This is so apt for the prompt.
I was also watching a Netflix series about Ancient Rome which prompted me too. Thank you as always 😊
