Tree of Life
Come into my arms
Let me shelter you
from the storm
Let me cover you
with my silken leaves
and keep you warm
You may sleep on the
soft and pretty
flowers at my feet
A carpet of beauty
with their fragrance
so exotic and sweet
I will give you my limbs
so you can break them
to kindle a fire
You may eat my fruit
to nourish your body
and do what you require
I am here for you
whatever you ask of me
Do not resist my attraction
I will breathe my life
into your starved spirit
for your needed benefaction

Yes… almost just like the giving tree
Thanks Stephen. You must know that I did not grow up with the Giving Tree and had not read it when I wrote this. It just felt natural 🙂
It is a wonderful thing
Beautiful and positive words, lovely poem.
Thank you Bernie! 🙂
Trees can be the best friends we have… we just have to show them a little friendship and they will give plenty in return.
Thats what I believe 🙂
Reminds me of the giving tree, but very lyrical, very nice
Thank you! 🙂

I like your description of that tree offering life in many ways.
Thank you Frank 🙂
Trees are such lovely friends. I have one in particular that I enjoy climbing and sitting in and feel his warmth at my back.
Yes I agree! The more attention we pay to Nature, the closer we come. Thank you for reading and commenting 🙂
