Chemistry

Chemistry

You came into my line of vision
At an awkward angle
I turned quickly to see you
and we fell into a tangle

Possessions scattered
across the floor
If I remember correctly
I believe I swore

Too busy to look up
Gathering possessions
Finally, our eyes met
Quite an impression

Your face magnified
I felt the chemistry
What is happening?
Is this my destiny?

You gave me your hand
In a noble gesture
Helped me to my feet
Apologizing, late for your lecture

'Walk with me', you say
'Stay for just a while'
My curiosity was piqued
I liked your style

I felt an electrical charge
as you held my gaze
‘My pleasure’, I responded
I floated in a daze
