White Out
The snow kisses the ground
And lingers awhile
Its down-like blanket
shrouding the forest
fooling us
with a wicked smile
Tree branches encased
with crystal ice
Preservation limited
until Spring
when the sun returns
to this part of paradise
Lonely footprints
in the virgin snow
marking the journey
of someone’s adventure
across the field
now fallow
No tire tracks to be seen
and no soul in sight
Not even a snowman
gracing a garden
or a cardinal against
the backdrop of white

You captured snowfall perfectly.
Thank you Michele! Hope you’re not snowed in. Brrrr
Beautiful, Christine!
Thank you my friend 🙂💕
🤗💗
beautifully descriptive – one of my lovely winter days recently – now i can fully appreciate the words you write
Thank you my dear friend 🙂
Beautiful portrayal.
Thank you so much Violet 🙂
You have really captured that feel of a fresh snowfall – the beauty and the loneliness.
Thanks V.J. Yes, it is so beautiful to look at, but you are completely alone. Sometimes that’s a good thing I suppose but I’m sure it can be depressing over a long period of time 😔
I think the loneliness was my projection. Winter weather usually keeps me home bound (unless my gracious husband drives me south.)
Maybe he will! You’ll both need a break sometime soon 😎 Here’s hoping for you.
We are in Texas as I write this, enjoying the sunshine.
Fantastic! I lived in Texas for about 14 years. Yeehaw!
Loving it!
Enjoy 😉
Really true picture of a chilling 🥶 winter.
Really lovely, Christine.
Thanks so much Sue 🙂
Beautiful.
Thanks so much Jay-lyn. Much appreciated 🙂💕
You’re most welcome. ☺
I wish i could experience snowfall one day <3
Oh I hope you do! 🙂 Thanks for reading
Come to Pennsylvania, we get our share of snow.
