Indulgence

Indulgence

Like silk on my skin
soft and seductive
an exquisite sensation
and so very destructive
Stroking my shoulders
with your nimble fingers
feathery, light
Letting the touch linger

I want to sing hallelujahs
Take me to the church
Drowning in erotica
before you I do smirch
Gloried in the commonplace
made weird, I am at a loss
for words to describe
this, which I feared

A hedonistic existence
of pleasures fulfilled
regardless of its effect
on lives to rebuild
Looking for escape
from blurred lines
unable to distinguish
or read the danger signs

    “I want to sing hallelujahs
    Take me to the church”
Great lines in the context of the poem.

I enjoyed this very much…that sense of “being and with” a certain time alone…that image of perfect harmony with your body and sorroundings just gives me shiver.

captured by sensory beauty, forgetting reality, I love your descriptions of being lost in a moment of touch
