End of Days

End of Days

Frozen in time
Petrified
Polarized
With no reason
or rhyme

A bolt of lightning
Striking
Paralyzing
the body
Frightening

Unable to turn
yet senses in tact
Knowing
Aware
of the burn

Voices near
Unseeing
Feeling
a mutual distress
of dread and drear

Prisoners
of the elements
Captured
Hostage
No listeners

Nature’s anomaly
the end of days
Famine
Starving
Concluding solemnly
