Tranquility
As the evening sun
takes its final breath
of the day
the dappled grey sky
edged in silver
lights the way
Silhouetted birds
flying high above their
disappearing shadows
Darkness falls
and the moon rises
over flowering meadows
Cool evening air
with a gentle wind
rustling the trees
Sounds of the night
calming and comforting
A natural tease
Softly the rain comes
dampening dried earth
Paying penance to the sun
By first morning light
needed nurture complete
and the work is done
Flowers kissed with dew
reaching up to the dawn
The world awakens
Birdsong fills the air
as animals graze
The cycle unshaken
