Song Lyric Sunday – Baby I Love Your Way

Jim Adams has prompted us this week with Desire, Lust, Romance and Passion for Song Lyric Sunday. I think ‘love’ figures in there somewhere so I have chosen an old Peter Frampton song. He wrote and recorded it in 1975 but I much prefer this reggae-style version by Big Mountain from 1994. I hope you enjoy it too!

Lyrics
Baby I Love Your Way
Big Mountain

Shadows grow so long before my eyes,
And they're moving across the page
Suddenly the day turns into night,
Far away, from the city

Don't Hesitate,
'Cause your love won't wait
Ooh baby I love your way,
I Wanna tell you I love your way,
I Wanna be with you night and day

Moon appears to shine, and light the sky,
With the help, of some fireflys
I Wonder how they have the power to shine, shine, shine,
I Can see them, under the pine

But Don't hesitate,
'cause your love won't wait
Ooh baby I love your way,
I Wanna tell you I love your way,
I Wanna be with you night and day

Well don't, don't hesitate,
'Cause your love, won't wait,
I Can see the sunset in your eyes,
Brown and grey, and blue besides
Clouds are stalking islands in the sun,
I wish I could buy one, out of season,

But don't hesitate,
'Cause your love won't wait,
Ooh baby I love your way,
I wanna tell you I love you way,
I Wanna be with you night and day
Ooh baby I love your way

I remember this version being a big hit in the 90s! I didn’t know it was on a movie soundtrack!

I love Frampton’s version of this song. The poetry is lost here with the reggae beat, but it’s not bad per se πŸ˜‰

Yes I agree. Fortunately I know the song by heart so nothing gets lost! πŸ™‚

Familiar song, but not the artist. Always good to hear an alternative. Though not a fan of reggae, this was actually not bad at all!

I actually like the Frampton song better, but the reggae is also nice,
