Sheets in the Wind
Like sheets blowing in the wind
She let her thoughts drift away
And for that one temporary moment
She realized she could easily stray
Her mind running rampant
suddenly freed from its cage
She was acting out of character
and definitely not her age
Imprisoned in her mind
she had never ventured that far
and somehow without warning
she was behaving quite bizarre
Now she was running fast
leaving everything in her dust
Blazing a trail blindly
she followed her lust
Soon tiring from her escape
and running out of steam
Bells were ringing in her head
It was all just a dream

I would like to be able to not act my age. Unfortunately, my crap body has other plans.
We can be anything we want in our mind! Keep dreaming 🙂💕
Great poetry.
Thank you my dear 🙂💕
My pleasure!
