She wandered
the castle’s battlements
every evening
Flaxen hair pulled back
Tied like a barley stalk
Haunted and haunting
searching endlessly
for the love
forever lost to her
From across the water
she could be seen
as the sun left
its pale, yellow light
to the grayness of dusk
The lady in white
A lost soul
searching endlessly
for poetic justice
