in the quietness
of my mind

water falling
soothing
in the quietness
 
lofty trees
sheltering, protecting
of my mind
 
the beating heart
of my stag, silent
my escape complete

A Cascade is four three-line stanzas, without rhyme.
Three lines of the first verse used successively as
last lines of following verse
Line pattern A/B/C, d/e/A, f/g/B, h/i/C

      Thanks Lisa. It was one of Jane Dougherty’s prompts. I loved her choice of Art and the fact she chose a cascade to go with that painting! 🙂

        I didn’t either. I just happened to read one of her posts that Sue Vincent had posted. I clicked on it and it was a challenge from June. I liked the art and the challenge age so I wrote something and submitted it. I hope she does more 🙂

    I like the simplicity of this. The repetition is so natural it goes almost unnoticed.

        I think the poem is one that Sue wrote for a poetry challenge I held a while back. I love the painting. It’s so enigmatic.
