Repair
To escape the chaos
that is you
I must find fortitude
Lashing back
is no longer an option
Needing solitude
I lose myself
in the secret garden
of my mind
Where I am calm
Healing can begin
and justice is blind
Floating on a sea
of mundane thoughts
Exorcising the discontent
Here I countdown
to the return of sanity
The storm to circumvent

Hi, thank you for introducing me to this calm chaos. I guess most of us today relate to this and you did a brilliant job in writing this poem.
Lovely!
Thank you 🙂
Shelter from the Storm. Everyone needs a place like this.
I need one today! 😏
I love this poem. It really fits with the space I am in right now, and paints the hiding and withdrawal into personal healing with such stunning rhyme and rhythm. The seeking of peace.
Like Jane, I love the use of the word circumvent, it frames the nautical/navigational theme so precisely and is a special little surprise that clicks the entire poem with a satisfying “Chonnkk, Fwaapp” (my phrase for something settling perfectly into some previously unknown open defect in my mind), at the end.
Lona, thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words. It mens a lot 🙂💕
I really do love this poem!
Oh this is absolutely stunning!! ❤️
Thanks you so much 🙂💕
This was a captivating read CHRISTINE. “The secret garden of my mind” — cool! Thank you for sharing it for OLN,
Thanks, as always, Rob. You are always so kind with your comments and I always appreciate it 🙂💕
I like the juxtaposition in the first stanza of ‘fortitude’ and ‘solitude’, leading the reader to the secret garden of the mind.
Thanks Kim. Yes, we need both, don’t we?
Circumvent—great word!
🙂 Thanks Jane!
May the time spent in solitude give us care, calmness and energy.
It usually works for me Grace 🙂
Yes! Very inspiring!

Aww, thank you so much Darnell. That means a lot to me 🙂💕
