Not Amused
Sometimes I wonder
if this is part of a
wicked plan to confuse
What was up is now down
Your language foreign
It does not amuse
What I see as black
you claim is white
This you I don’t recognize
Snipping and sniping
always unpredictable
bringing tears to my eyes
I feel a cloud of discontent
shadowing what was once
pure and honest
Is this some kind of sham?
What have you become?
It’s not what you promised

oh the awful reality in a relationship that what was is not. Far too many people get caught up in domestic abuse relationships because, although others saw the warnings, they did not….and perhaps that reality was deliberately hidden until the individual was ensnared. A meaningful write.
Thank you Lillian for understanding the complexities of relationships. I always try to write honestly and with meaning in the hope it helps someone feel less alone 😔

You’ve painted an accurate picture of a toxic relationship, Christine. Some people get a kick out of playing cruel mind games. I refuse to play.
Absolutely Kim. That’s not the ind of game anyone should play 😔
The surface is not always the same as what lies beneath. (K)
