Why?

Why?

Was I really flirting
with danger?
Should I have just let
things slide?
Eventually my cynicism
would have won that battle
Why had I even tried?
Β
Impossible to communicate
with you anymore
but we needed to have
that one important talk
You lash out as always
Don’t shoot the messenger
You have already crippled me
and I can no longer walk

Good use of the prompt, Christine. A bad relationship is like hobbling a horse that wants to run free in the fields.

Love this. I think that question: “Should I have just let
    things slide?” is universal.

Painful times – and communication is impossible when emotions are in defence mode.

I think as writers we wear our sensitivity on ourvsleves , we seem to attract the element that takes advantage of that fact. This has been my experience anyway.

I think you hit the nail on the head Andy. That’s exactly what we do and in some cases to our detriment. How sad!

In all cases so far in life iv’e found this unfortunately. Thats why i focus on writing now .

Yes, safer to write than speak! 🀭

On the flip side it does provide alot of material to work with , so i guess there’s some benefits.
