After the Love Has Gone
After the love has gone
and the hierarchy shifts
There is always a winner
and of course, a loser
and the taking back of gifts
Who will be my advocate
in this frazzled, ugly mess
Serenity long gone
just hurt and anger remain
and you couldn’t care less

The taking back of gifts really spoke to me in this poem, Christine it recalled the final days of my marriage. Really well written.
Thank you, it seems to be a common heartache. I’m sorry you went through that too. 😥
I know God it was painful but we survive don’t we?
Yes, you think you’ll never get through it, but we do. We are invincible … well not right away! Glad you’re OK 💕
<3 Thanks Christine. It is the deepest pain as I know you know.
It certainly is. Thanks goodness we have our writing to keep us sane ❤️
How the power shifts! This is wonderful, Christine. 🙂💞

Yes…there is always one who feels more powerful as a relationship/marriage ends. 😢
