Saved from Extinction
Marriage saved
from extinction
after weeks of
not understanding
the distinction
between two people
with opposing views
Hurting each other
beyond belief
the other must choose
Anger escalating
blinded with rage
until the coin drops
in the slot and
no more war to wage

It is human behavior. It happens and you work towards compromise.
Why wage a war, when no one will win?
It is human behavior. It happens and you work towards compromise.
Sounds like things clicked into place 🙂 Nice quadrille, Christine.
Thanks Lisa!! 🙂
You are welcome, Christine!
Marriage is a slippery slope Christine, that requires careful ongoing climbing. Not all slopes are scalable.
I found your comment in Spam Rob! Yes very well described. It is true, not all slopes are scalable 😔
You’ve put the experience of so many into words.
Thanks Crystal 🙂
Nice comparison of the end of a marriage with extinction.
Thanks Frank 🙂
I think sometimes people marry and don’t realize that marriage is a lot of work, compromise, and commitment. Well done!
Thanks Linda. That is certainly true! 🙂
Yes, painful learning, but when it is, extinction avoided, I love your construction Christine.
Thank you Paul. Yes, sometimes you cannot see the wood for the trees 😔
Well done! When opposites attract it takes a lot of compromise to make that coin drop!
Yes Dwight, when you ate young, you don’t know what you don’t know. When you are older you think you know it all !!! Such is life 🙂
It so happens, that I was listening to this song, while I was reading your poem, so here goes.. !!

I like that song Ivor. 🙂 Yes, you’re right. It is also along the same lines of something else I’m working on too. Thanks so much for sharing it with me 💕
Always my pleasure Christine
Great poem and message.
