Process

Process

Amidst the turmoil
of flying words
that can never return
and the tumultuous
sea of regret
darkness finally comes
as the door closes
one last time
on the carnage
never to forget

Sobering, stark walls
of the passageway
numb the senses
quieten the mind
and heart rate begins to slow
As oxygen reenters the brain
Blinding, distorted visions
disappear from view
Calmness comes
forming an inner glow

Time in this place
becomes preferable
Cocooning, comforting
Stabilizing, strengthening
and healing
A distant door beckons
with a future new
To be opened when
Equanimity returns
to endorse the feeling

Yes, after darkness there is light. Beautifully expressed, Christine. 🙂💞

Beautifully written. As one door closes another opens.

Thank you! Sometimes we need that time in the hallway to heal, before opening another door 🙂💕

We certainly do. It is our instinct to pause and take time to heal before we step forward.

Exactly but when we are young, not so much. We are so impatient and do not have the maturity to understand the process. Too wounded. 😢

        That’s true.
