Majestic Mountains
Living in awe
of your majestic force
Towering into the clouds
Peaks invisible
to us mere mortals
down here in the crowds
Capped with snow
like a jeweled crown
Befitting your regality
Your slopes draping
like royal robes
in all its formality
Your range stretches
miles across the horizon
Its sheer expanse intimidating
Worthy of our worship
and a need to conquer
Your existence exhilarating

Gospel Isosceles, Amaya, is hosting at D'Verse Poets
tonight and challenged us with the word Majesty
She asks us to write about something majestic
whether it is royalty or something in nature
or perhaps a person that we might hold in high esteem.

That middle stanza is magnificent, Christine!

That snow is a jeweled crown.
Thank you Frank 🙂
Mountains are so awe-inspiring! I, too, gaze on them with admiration. Well told. 🙂
Yes, they are. Thank you Jennifer 🙂💕
Love the personification of the mountains… dressed in robes
Thank you. I’m happy that worked along with the snow crown 🙂
My favorite part is the line about slopes as royal robes.
Thank you so much 😊 i’m happy you liked it
And their draping robes are much more giving and utilitarian than what mere mortal royals wear, providing fresh water – life! – for the creatures sharing the earth.
Ah yes, so true 🙂
Oh wow, oh wow, oh WOW–Christine, this may be my fave to date! Huge blessings to you<3
Thank you so much! 🙂💕
Most welcome always!
