How Did I Get Here?

How Did I Get Here?

It was not meant
to be like this
Searching a lifetime
to be with you
What did I miss?

We had both fallen
in the past
Stumbling in flaky blind love
Mistaken but
finding each other at last

Everything else
was a dress rehearsal
For what was to be
our rhapsody
Never expecting a reversal

We learned our lessons well
or so I thought
only to be derailed
A love and life casualty
and all the pain it brought

How did I get here
in this too familiar place?
Alone and heartbroken
back again
at the start of the race

I’m so happy it resonated with you. Relationships are so complex and the older we get the harder they become, it seems. Thank you Beckie 😔💕

Sad but lovely embroidery on the theme, “one step forward, 2 steps back”–maybe?

Oh goodness, that’s so hard–truly I know: three weeks ago I thought I’d finally gotten the depression under control…returned with a vengeance. BUT, I trust God for a turnaround 🙂 <3

Yes, it’s that positive thinking ad trust that will see you through the dark times. Thinking of you ❤️☺️👍

The start of the race again
For aching bones, it’s a strain
Too many pieces down the drain
I don’t think there’ll be more warm rain
