Peace
I feel myself recoiling
and closing down
Shutting out the dissonance
No fight left inside me
One more spiteful remark
will make no difference
Your comfortable chaos
has slowly eaten away
at my core
Calculated and manipulative
Strategically planned
to wound in your war
Peace will only come
in my final retreat
Conceding to the last
Words have left me
As I withdraw from the conflict
and leave you in my past

To be wounded in someone else’s war is alas way to common thing… especially since they often wage wars on themselves…
In the end, leaving is probably the only option.
Yes I would agree on that 😕
Wow it sounds so sad and dejected until you get to the end. Then it is triumphant and angry, dismissive of the other person and you regain your feet. Kudos. 🙂
Yes a realization that it’s all so pointless 😕 Thanks J ❤️
You are welcome. 🤓💜
A truly moving and powerful piece. Wonderfully written! 😊
Thank you dear Beckie! 😊❤️
You’re most certainly welcome, Christine! 😊
Sometimes, leaving is the hardest step to take. But once you do, in essence you are the victor.
Yes and so it is! Thanks so much Linda 🙂
I like how you used and described the phrase “comfortable chaos”.
Thanks Frank. Yes some people are very comfortable living like that – not me though!
☺️
Very sad Christine. Even sadder if you are writing your truth. But you can’t let someone take you from yourself. Protect that private center — always, and at all costs!
Yes Rob, that is true. Thank you, I really appreciate it 💕🙂
Tired of the conflict, one learns to stay away. Better cut off the toxic people from life.
Thank you. Yes so true Sadje. Sometimes easier to say than do 😔
I know, specially when you want to keep everybody happy.
Yes if only we wouldn’t feel so guilty about doing what’s best for us 😔
The dilemma of decision making.
The peace that comes after conceding defeat…
Yes like a wave of relief 🙂
Indeed. 🙂
I feel the deep and heavy weariness in this…
Thank you Avia. I’m happy it showed through. A weird thing to say I suppose, but that’s what was going for 🙂💕
I totally get you! And that’s what makes it hard/sad for me.
Thank you my dear 🙂💕
You’re most welcome <3
