Armor – A Quadrille

Armor

Sealed tight
like a drum
Nothing gets in
or out
It cannot be undone

That’s the way
it became
When deciding
to forsake our love
leaving me in shame

Coming upon me
a brazen charmer
Knowing now
there is no crack
in my armor

De Jackson, aka Whimsy Gizmo is
hosting Monday Quadrille at
D'Verse Poets tonight and has
prompted us to write a quadrille
with the word 'Crack'

A Quadrille is a poem of exactly
144 words excluding the title

May the armor protect from harm, but open for the good things in life.

Tightly sealed away can mean safety, or lonely isolation Christine.

For some, yes Rob. For many the isolation and protection is necessary in order to heal. ❤️

The lessons of life hard won, but not to be bitten twice, personal and powerful.

Thank you so much Paul 🙂 What you say is true, yet sometimes we are bitten more than twice!

Loving the subtle rhyme in your last stanza. And so glad you’re able to keep out those nasty charmers.
