Echoing Images

Echoing Images

In the perfect stillness
of this magical cave
our voices echo in semi darkness
throwing back the sound we gave
The light reflecting imagery
of perfect visual symmetry

We drift on mirrored pool
in silence but for our breath
The air heavy, dank and cool
Humidity smelling of death
Shivering with a feeling of fear
Wondering where to go from here

    Loved this line…
    The light reflecting imagery
    of perfect visual symmetry

Life seems to be a series of reflections and echos!

    Well done Christine!

This is lovely. It seems like one with layered (or perhaps echoing) meanings. Thank you!

Your poem evokes the feeling death is a stillness heavy with uncertainty…and ethereal light.

Yes! I was wrestling with the serenity and calmness of the place and then felt trapped and anxious 😟

This really puts me in the poet’s shoes for sure. It’s definitely relatable too since none of us can be certain about where we are headed. Great work!
