Feeling a lot like Christmas

Freshly hewn logs
stacked in neat piles
dusted with a light layer
of soft snow
Christmas trees
lined up ready for sale
Excited children
with hearts aglow
Melodic carols being sung
Chestnuts on a fire
Jack Frost in the air
Memories from long ago

Thank you Gina! You’re very kind. 🙂❤️
That sure puts me in the Christmas spirit! Thanks for sharing!
Reminded me of the cords of firewood needed to get through a winter in Maine.
Yes I remember the stacks of wood. Those are the winters that are exciting in my head. I just can’t live them in real time anymore 🥶
Your poem has a lovely seasonal tone, Christine! I just put another log on the log burner – it’s glowing!
Ahhh, there you go Kim. Another use of the word glow! 🙂❤️
🙂
Love this! For me, early morn when by husband is still abed, I sit in the living room with the tree lit, candles lit, darkness outside still….and that is the time when the memories come flooding in….and mostly I smile.
Thank you so much Lillian. I hope your Christmas is really special. Enjoy your family. 🙂❤️
Very seasonal poetry. 😍
