Daily Haiku – Wed. January 15, 2020

Good morning! I will be taking a short break from posting to take an overdue vacation. The Daily Haiku is still scheduled for each day but I will not be sharing any other poetry or blogs for the next week. I will catch up on any unanswered comments when I return.

Thank you for your continued support of my writing and posts. I appreciate it so much. See you soon 🙂❤️

Here is today’s Haiku.

The stillness of night
Soothes the stresses of the day
Erasing tension

I wandered through
the forest
The moonlight
lighting my way
I came upon
a stationary horse
and I thought
I heard him neigh
He moved suddenly
hearing my approach
Turning to face me
I noticed the horn
This beautiful creature
moving elegantly
like a gazelle
was clearly a unicorn
I moved closer
in silence
wanting to touch
the mystical illusion
As I reached out
he disappeared
in an instant,
It was just a delusion

Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages

As daylight kissed
the flowery fields
and the sun rose
over the hill
the planted stones
trembled once more
and birds scattered
amid their shrill
Ancient rocks
worn with age
standing in position
testing time
Shifting and leaning
with each shudder
of earth’s movement
and continuing rhyme
