Tears – Poem of the Month – February 2020

Salty, stinging tears
filling eyes
Bursting forth
in a cascade
of aesthetic emotion
a wounded heart
which lies
in pieces
at your feet

As light enters
the dull, dim
coffin of my mind
and the sobs
of agony subside,
a strange sense
of peace
befalls my being
and I am
again calm
It is finished

In dreams you come
and hide in the layers
of my mind
Nestled where
I feel your presence
and draw
from your strength
That I might find hope
with the infusion
of your love
through my veins
Knowing I am
not always alone
I sleep deep
in your comfort

The sky awash
with hues of cerulean,
turquoise and indigo
Reflecting my
ever changing moods
Bright and expectant
falling silent
with deep thoughts
Followed by stillness
as the blues turn darker
Subtle changes
in colors
Sweeping the expanse
Carrying my musings
to another dimension
