        Hi. Christine. In reality there are no borders. One just knows where it fits. Sometimes I have problems with the 5-7-5 haiku format. I am comforted, through my reading and research, that one can on occasion vary the syllable count for the benefit of the flow and meaning of a piece – the asymmetric haiku. Have a great day. Goff

        Yes, I think you’re right Goff. Reading books of Haiku I see that many do not conform to the 5-7-5 format. I think the structure is there as a guideline perhaps and it’s ok to color outside of the lines from time to time! I hope you have a good day too. A new year and new possibilities 🙂💕
