Deluge

Deluge

From my mouth
a torrent of angry words
Nonsensical
Running furiously
Stored and stirred
Simmered and boiled
Finally released
in a cathartic gush
An energy that
will take down
anything standing
Swallowing all
in its wake
The dam has burst
and now the river
of discontent
will flow out to sea
and those
tempestuous words
will drown

My own replies aren’t showing up in notifications, although I see they are showing up here. Always a new thrill.

Uh oh! I thought it was only me with the challenges! 🀣. I’m seeing your comments when I find them in SPAM 😦 yes another new thrill.

I really like the flow of your words! Angry words are often like that!

Remind me never to get on your bad side, Christine πŸ˜‰
But that kind of anger is usually sharp and short-lived… thankfully.

Oh no…. I was on the receiving end! 🀣

      • March 8, 2020 at 1:40 am

In that case I hope it was VERY short lived πŸ˜‰

Yes, and as you mentioned I can let rip too, but no need to be worried! LOL! 🀣

Really like this one, Christine. Well done. Did you have trouble pinging back? I can’t get them to accept any of my pingbacks or manual links. Grrr. A torrent of angry words is about to gush forth…..

Thanks Judy. I have just discovered your note in SPAM! Grrr from me too! I gave up the battle with pingbacks some time ago. They stopped showing up and then when I put my posts in comments of the prompt sites, they were spammed! I was frustrated. Akismet helped me out with the spam problem but I never bothered again with pingbacks. Some sites ping me fine but they never see mine πŸ˜• I take it you are still having problems too?

      • March 10, 2020 at 2:25 am

I contacted the happiness engineers and although they never emailed me back, the problem seems to be fixed.. although I’ve had other weird problems like my Reader suddenly not directing me to my reader but to a page where I could develop a new blog or website.. strange. I had it in favorites and needed to relink to the Reader and destroy the old link.. Odd, odd.

Oh good. I’m glad you got it fixed. Yes I’ve had that with old links. It’s not unique to WP.
Do you find your pingbacks take a long time to appear or are they fairly instant? I don’t trust them to work anymore πŸ˜•

      • March 10, 2020 at 9:15 am

They used to appear immediately but now some of them take awhile. I don’t know if it is because the sites have changed and have to okay them first or because they are going into spam and they have to retrieve them. We’ll see how they go today.

      • March 10, 2020 at 10:57 am

oops. My response didn’t come through. Yes, they are taking longer–as though suddenly blogites that formerly published them at once have to review them first–or they are going into spam.

Exactly Judy! Maybe my pingbacks are working but nobody is approving them. I give up! 🀣

Oh shoot.. now my replies aren’t working.

Torrents off angry words are hard to stem sometimes. Better they drown in the sea. Great poem Christine.
