The First Step
The road is long
and not for the
faint-hearted
It will bend and twist
uphill and down
Unforgiving
and full of
pot holes
There is no choice
on this journey
of life
You will stumble
and fall
and at times
you will reach
a crossroads
where sometimes
you will stay
in neutral
Unsure
and unknowing
You will take
the wrong path
without question
but you will learn
from the mistake
and carry on
to the next junction
With experience
you will choose wisely
There are no shortcuts
on this road
called life

Such truth to your words!
Thank you! ☺️
Anytime! Although I’d be sheerly honoured if you could take some time out of yours to check out my poetries, only if you’re okay with it. Thanks!
You write beautiful poetry Shruti 🙂
Thank you so much! It’s indeed kind of you to say so
My pleasure ☺️
No, there are no shortcuts, though there are many paths we might choose. Excellent, Christine.
