No Voice

No Voice

Listen to me
please
is all I ask
Hear my words
Let them resonate
and you will learn
about me
For I have been forgotten
My allusions unnoticed
or disregarded
Your guilt quickly
and bombastically
camouflaging the truth
of what I say
Silencing
You spin it
until unrecognizable
You are now the victim
and I the aggressor
My precious words
catch the fury of your ire
and fall in ashes
to the ground
Unheard
Unrecoverable

It’s so chilling when someone can turn your words against you… too often this happens that the perpetrator manages to become the victim.

Yes, I think it has become an art form 😦

We speak, we write, we holler and yet … we are at times unheard, and go unnoticed. This is an exceptionally strong write. The poem can be interpreted in more ways than one. 💝💝

Oh yes…..the spin that can be put on facts to turn them into something else…..the refusal to take any sense of accountability and thrust the blame or guilt on an “other” — LISTEN….yes. That is a great plea. Especially in this country to heed in November!

It is painful not being able to communicate with someone who is close.
