Roller Coaster

Roller Coaster

I kept quiet for so long
checking my tongue
and making silent screams
Secretly hoarding thoughts
into my own private stash
Fatigued by the roller coaster
of emotions that I navigate
each day by just being
the other half of you
Some are better than others
but mostly I am dragged behind
hanging on for dear life
My reserve worn thin
and my emotions
tangled in knots
The only escape is imagining
that cathartic moment
when I finally release

Irreparable – A Quadrille

Irreparable

Maintaining composure
You cannot see
what is really going on
inside of me

You see ambivalence
no care to give
I’m a broken vessel
from the life I live

The dark side called
Unable to fix
This soulless specimen
got lost in the mix

Circle of Stones

Circle of Stones

Pale sun behind
gossamer clouds
Morning light fused
in sleepy silver grey
shrouding ancient stones
in a cloak of mystery
A pathway defining
entry to a sacred site
harboring history
of centuries past
Enticing,
beckoning
those who would
surrender and
dare to dance

Fickle

Fickle

You left me
dancing on air
seeing the world
through rosy hues
Carefree with
a wide smile
and loving
whom I choose
Bring me
a circle of gold
with promises
for my amuse
But do not cross me
for I am fickle
Intimacy a weapon
I can easily use
