Blood Brothers – A Quadrille

Blood Brothers

My blood is your blood
Our tears flow together
in shared pain
Toiling together
our skin colors blend
in earth shades
from our different birthplaces
My brother
anger rises inside me
for I bear witness
to the last breath
as your life slips away

Thank you. I’d like to think that George Floyd’s tragic murder that we witnessed will change our history for the better. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back for many, including me.

As the posters read, Enough is Enough!

So true, oppressing one person – one group – demeans is all. Makes me feel the suffocating. Powerful and so sad.

Thank you my friend. This has affected me more than you know Darnell. I fear for this country. It is like living under a fascist regime. I hope everyone votes for change in November.

      • June 2, 2020 at 2:23 pm

I bet most people will vote this time.

    “anger rises inside me
    for I bear witness
    to the last breath
    as your life slips away”

That’s powerful, sad, and beautiful all at the same time, Christine.

May I share this on FB?
