Almost

Almost

Missing the closeness
A breath on bare neck
Fingertips stroking gently
and whispered words
spoken with romance
Dancing in a head
giddy with anticipation
Blinded by the strategy
Ignoring the signs

It seems so long ago
that we nearly had it all
Expectations never met
Promises broken
Love poetry
a means to an end
Seduction was your game
My surrender the prize
Heartbreak the memory

Wow Christine!!! This is a real gem! Especially loved your last stanza –
    “Promises broken
    Love poetry
    a means to an end
    Seduction was your game
    My surrender the prize
    Heartbreak the memory”

So full of emotions/feelings – bittersweet but so beautifully penned, My Dear!!

Well, Christine – I’m being honest and kind, not saying anything that isn’t true or very well deserved – You ARE a Great Writer, My Dear!! You need to start accepting that in your heart and head. Maybe put it on a post it note for the bathroom mirror – “Christine Bolton IS a Great Writer!!!!!” I find post-it notes help! They do for me.

I’m happy that my comments are meaningful to you because they are meant to let you know the truth about your words and that they reach out and touch my heart!!! They brighten my day and so you deserve to know that from my comments! And I’m very happy if they bring a smile to your face too!
        xoxo
