Heart Medicine

Heart Medicine

The stillness of night
Soothing and gentle
Erasing the sharpness
of scathing words
Still ringing
in burning ears
Moonlight caressing
a bruised heart
While a gentle
salty tide bathes
open wounds
washing away
hurt feelings
A fool’s fool
Gullible and naive
Believing, hoping
for a different outcome
that never comes
Once more
walking off the pain
of disappointment
in search of serenity
