Respite
Give thanks to rain clouds
for blanketing the sun’s heat
Drenching a parched earth
and cooling temperatures
A brief respite for now

Haiku Challenge #156
This week, write the haikai poem of your
choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga,
renga, etc.) that alludes to new coolness
(shinryoo).
In Florida we are still in hurricane season
and the weather and the Gulf remain extremely
warm. The rains give us some relief but it
is temporary.

Lovely imagery. 🙂
Lovely poem for rain.
It’s always welcome in the heat Sadje. Although we were getting a little soggy 😳
I agree. And there can be too much rain at times
How I love the rain, especially after a hot day, love the tanka Christine.
Thank you my friend Jude ☺️ Warm rain is perfect for walking in. ☺️💕
