Respite – A Tanka

Respite

Give thanks to rain clouds
for blanketing the sun’s heat
Drenching a parched earth
and cooling temperatures
A brief respite for now

Haiku Challenge #156

This week, write the haikai poem of your
choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga,
renga, etc.) that alludes to new coolness
(shinryoo).

In Florida we are still in hurricane season
and the weather and the Gulf remain extremely
warm. The rains give us some relief but it
is temporary.

It’s always welcome in the heat Sadje. Although we were getting a little soggy 😳
