One Liner Wednesday – It’s Christmas!

Just two days to Christmas. Any other year I would be feeling excited and looking forward to having family together and celebrating the holidays. This time last year who would have thought we would be experiencing a full-blown world-wide pandemic, wearing masks and confined to our homes apart from necessary outings to the food store. Many would be unemployed, broke, destitute and lining up for food handouts. Hundreds of thousands would be dead. It’s shocking.

COVID 19 has touched all of us and my heart goes out to each and every one of you. I hope you and your family stay strong and healthy this holiday season and the spirit of Christmas, which is basically celebrating the joy of life and sharing with each other, will be with you and give you strength.

With that said, I share with you a funny Gary Larsen cartoon that I hope brings a smile to your face. I am also including the video of “We Are The World” The Live Aid musician collaboration to raise awareness of famine in Africa. It has been on my mind a lot lately because of what we are all going though around the world.

Warm wishes and Merry Christmas to all.

For Linda G. Hill’s One Liner Wednesday.

I have to laugh at the Gary Larsen cartoon. My mom and dad made the best fruitcake ever. Really. It was my German grandmother’s recipe and I always looked forward to receiving a couple loaves of fruitcake from them during the holidays.

Have a wonderful Christmas at home. Enjoy the peace and hopefully a much more positive and healthy year ahead.

Thanks Mary! Yes the fruitcake we had in England growing up was wonderful. There was always rum or brandy in it and it was dark and rich. The fruit cake here is like a spotted doorstep 😧🤣🤣!
Merry Christmas to you and your family too and be healthy and happy 🥰

I never knew about the fourth wiseman, but nobody wants fruitcake.

I always preferred this to Bob Geldof’s Band Aid, yet as far as I know it was never re-released in subsequent years. This year has been terrible for everyone one way or another. Have a good Christmas, and let’s hope we can start 2021 on a note of positivity and hope.
