At Last

At Last

I felt your presence before I ever met you
While waiting in a neutral state, marking time.
Previous relationships in the history books
No unresolved issues, I was ready to receive

Where were you exactly?
What did you still have to do?
Trusting in the Universe and knowing
it was just a matter of when, I found patience

Then, miraculously you were there
We had been dancing on the perimeter
of each other’s lives
Never knowing, never seeing, never touching

The glass slipper you brought slipped easily on my foot
Your hand in mine, strong and gentle, guiding me
Your lips on my lips sending little electric shocks
I knew then that it was you, and you had found me

Love this.. it spoke to me today.. I’m not having a good day.. I’m sad, and worried.. but this reminds me.. I have found love, and I can’t let little things make me think it’s not.

Yes, falling in love is quite daunting and scary. Try not to let little things get in the way. They are just are rough edges trying to fit together. Over time they will smooth out. The Universe had a way of letting us know when things are right. I am very happy for you ☺️💕. Thank you for visiting.

Ah, this crazy little thing called love. I like the magical, part serendipitous, part good old-fashioned fairy tale fell of this.

“We had been dancing on the perimeter
    of each other’s lives
Never knowing, never seeing, never touching,” … yes, yes! So aptly described.

This is strong, beautiful writing, Christine 😀

What a wonderful love story! And isn’t it just sometimes that way….people on the edge of knowing each other; in each other’s “sphere” until somehow, magically, their paths cross. Enjoyed this post very much!

Thank you dear Lillian ☺️. It was about time I wrote a love poem. I’m usually film of angst 😦😢😃

    Christine,
This made me smile because my daughter has probably watched every version of that fairytale available on YouTube by now 😀

My Beloved Sandra has only a vague recollection of our 1st meeting, so I (quite regularly) share MY version (in great detail) and, when she says it couldn’t have been as I said, I challenge her to correct me. The tale of our 1st encounter has (over the past 3 decades) been significantly enhanced, and there ain’t nothin she can do about it. Neener-neener-neener.
