Always Different – Poem of the Month – June 2021

Always Different

Downy pink feathers
Lay on dew-drenched grass
A Roseate Spoonbill had
rested, fluffed and preened
before startled into flight
Grey-streaked sky
burnished gold with morning sun
as fading moon bids farewell
The morning chorus begins
and activity becomes feverish
Another new day has dawned
and no two are ever the same

Well written Chrustine! I celebrate the veracity and power of your words. May you continue always sharing only your authentic self — that alone makes you genuine, meaningful to read, and of worth to be heard!U

Magnificently great poetic write. I enjoy listening to the birds sing in the morning for me to wake up. 🙂 It’s calming and relaxing at the same time. 🙂

All we have here at present is crows, chickadees, and nuthatches, but at least we’ve finally gotten to the point where we can leave the window (slightly!) opened & enjoy the early-light avian serenade. Fine poem, CB. Thanx.

The crows used to hold their morning committee meeting in the trees near the house from which we just moved. I miss them, but we have a kinder, gentler chorus here.

Oh Crows are so fascinating to watch and listen to. I watch them picnicking under the mango tree in the summer ☺️

Our daylight starts at four… sometimes those birds can be a bit noisy that early in the morning.

Oooo yes, that’s early. Still, more pleasant to be woken by chirping birds than an alarm clock ☺️
