Really loved this Christine!!! Tough choices when you are hungry and thirst for love! Hard to choose and do your “due diligence” and believe the results and choose accordingly and even then there is always risk, right? So, it seems to me that the best thing is to always consider the question, “What’s the worst that can happen?” And Can I live and accept that?
What is the old saying, Tis better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all??
Bellissimo, My Dear, Bellissimo!!

Oh yeah, what a problem. How and when does one know the right choice was made? Who is it a choice for? A choice for the famished, a choice for the child, or if all the stars align, a choice for both. after reading this, I am engaged, I find myself wishing for the latter.

Thank you Sean. Yes difficult choices in life sometimes particularly when it comes to love ☺️💕
What to do? How to choose, that is a risky situation. But I would think that she knows in her guts & heart, what she wants. She is very blessed to be in a situation to have 2 good suitors, smiles.

Yes, let’s hope she made the right decision! Thanks Grace ☺️
Your verses really engaged me here, I see this as someone who had to fend for herself for a while and then was given the opportunity for romantic love again, by not one but two suitors! This would definitely lead to risk assessments, but your last two lines are perfect…20/20 is always hindsight, it really is a leap of faith in love. Then the choice to keep at it! 💝

Thanks Tricia. Yes that is right! Thanks for a great prompt ☺️
A lovely write :-). I enjoyed the analogy of a love life being like famine, then suddenly the sun kissed the earth. Isn’t it always more than one suitor? Why is that? 😀

Thank you Sunra! ☺️💕 I think the Universe collects them and shows them to us when we are ready ☺️
I like the idea of taking a chance on love after years of self-neglect…

Yes Ingrid everyone should. There are many sacrifices being a single parent of young child/children and one of them is not having a meaningful relationship. So when the time comes you can be so rusty and you question your decisions. Scary thoughts! 😦
How utterly wonderful, Christine. Love is truly a risky business, as the little information you can gained while dating is so insufficient for making great decisions. You don’t know until the choice has been made.

Oh yes Regina, that is so true. I’m so happy you enjoyed it 🥰
Why do they always come in pairs? Risky and leaves me wondering, was a choice made in the end?

It is always that way. Yes a choice was made and over the years I always wonder if it was the right one for various reasons. The other choice still sometimes reaches out and I always wonder if that is the Universe trying to give me a message. It’s a risky business 😕
Oh man, brutal. I’ve changed my mind about choices over the years. Now, I believe there are no wrong choices; just different sets of joys and challenges as a restul of each choice. Not thinking of it as right or wrong has helped me be more decisive and just enjoy the choices I’ve made. 🙂

Yes, you are very wise. I never have regrets but at times you question yourself with “what if …” Of course you’ll never know so I agree with you, there is no right or wrong and the decision made was right at that time ☺️👍💕
Christine, you really whet my curiosity with this one… what was his “mistake”?
Yours,
David

Haha! I think most women think if a man is too handsome why would he have chosen them! Do men ever think that if a woman is so beautiful? She had chosen him by mistake?
This is a wonderful poem. Your opening line is stunning…
In the world of love
I lived in a time of famine
You did leave us hanging you know….!
Oh than k you so much Dwight! Im happy you liked that ☺️
Oh this is gorgeously poignant! I believe it’s always a risk when it comes to love and wading in its waters 💝💝
Thank you Sanaa. I appreciate that very much ☺️🌺💕

Welcome! 🌸
To go from a barren land to meadows of plenty, it is often hard to take the right road… maybe all choices are good.
Yes I agree, there is no such thing as a bad decision. You make the decision that is right for you at the time ☺️
Christine,
So beautifully expressed, the famine and the feast, and the risk inherent in every choice. It always leaves you wondering.
pax,
dora
Thank you Dora! ☺️💕 We always used to say the same about buses in London. You wait, wait, wait and them three would come along all at once ! 😕

Taking the risk … knowing me, I would have chosen the ‘talk all night guy.’ Your poem is pure delight!
That’s the one I picked Helen ☺️ Thanks so much 💕☺️
