Uncharted Waters
Wading in your shallow
I see clearly what is there
as I sidestep small pebbles
without surprise
Inviting, gentle and warm
Safe
It is when I venture into the deep
A pool of uncharted waters
I find myself in danger
Below the surface in the blackness
riptides and dangerous currents
pull me in opposing directions
Confusing and taking breath
I hit rocks with flailing legs
Left bloodied and bruised
Out of my depth
I cannot survive the unknown
and your tide consumes me

Beautifully absorbing and poignant.
Thanks Jude! I’m happy you liked it ☺️
I really did.
Unknown can break us or be our making.
That’s right Sadje. We just never know 😕
Indeed.
