Weary

Weary

Weary of this game called love
Exhausted by rules always broken
to serve the other’s purpose
Watching you justify your own
unacceptable behavior
as I become a target for calumny
You have so few redeeming qualities
that there is little left to respect
Let alone love
Where is the man once so principled?
So courteous and kind
All I see is someone selfish and cruel
And I am too tired to do this anymore

Great use of the prompts, but a sad poem. Hope everything is well?

Thank you for saying this for me, so eloquently. Precisely what I am feeling in this moment

I’m so happy it resonated with you. I have been there too and it is a difficult situation for many of us. It takes strength to recognize it and even more to do something about it. Hope you will be ok Marianna. ☺️💕 Thinking about you.

Thank you Christine ☺️🌸 I think poetry allows us to express our pain and transform into this beautiful writing. We all bleed in many ways, and only brave ones are turning it into art.

Yes Marianna that us so true. I have a quote on my blog that says “Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason”. I think you would agree with that too. Take care ☺️💕🌺

So sad that this sentiment rings true for most of us .

Yes it certainly does. You just hit that wall and you can’t do it anymore 😕

Been there a few times , then we recover rebuild … and put ourselves through the same thing all over again , such is the drive to love and be loved .

Yes Andy. We cry over broken hearts that really never break, for a reason 💙
