Change Partners – A Novelinee
Dancing to your tune I move gingerly
A misstep would be unwise causing pain
and I’m careful to avoid injury
fearing I’ll be your perennial bane
Imagining a new movement sequence
I pray for music to finally change
as I choreograph a new frequence
A change of partner giving me free range
It seems to me to be a fair exchange

Laura Bloomsbury is hosting D'Verse Poets - Meet at the Bar tonight
and as it is the ninth day of the ninth month she has prompted us with
a form that is new to me called the Novelinee. It is a nine line poem
with an a,b,a,b,c,d,c,d,d sequence.

If you cannot dance without being hurt… you need both a new song and a new partner.
That is so true! ☺️
Sometimes a change does help one’s groove! I enjoyed reading this 🙂
Thank you Sunra ☺️❤️
A change for the better, I think…keep dancin’, Christine 🙂
Yes! That’s what I intend to do Lynn. Thanks so much ☺️💕
Sounds like a fair exchange to me also Christine! ❤️
That’s what I thought! Lol 🤣
I have a feeling the new partner will be good for this dancer!
Yes I agree ! ☺️💕
some good rhymes and there’s a powerful message in this dance – more like the wresting picture
“Dancing to your tune I move gingerly
A misstep would be unwise causing pain”
Thanks Laura! I enjoyed your challenge ☺️
Hot stuff 🔥💯
Matching steps to someone new can be fun.
Thanks Sadje. That’s true isn’t it? ☺️💕
You’re welcome! I think so.
Hopefully the new partner would be fun & allow you to dance your new frequence. You did well with the form even though some end words are tricky – gingerly and injury.
Thanks Grace.☺️ I enjoyed this challenge. There I was thinking those nice three syllable words were good rhymes!! 🤣 Oh well.
