Zero to Crazy – An Awakening

Zero to Crazy – An Awakening

In the stillness
of the dawn
There is a chance
for a new beginning
A time to cast away
that which no longer works
The mangled
and exhausted dialogue
Repeated endlessly
and accepted as gospel
A new language
to be learned
and a fresh way
of communicating

My beloved
I fear we are
at an impasse
My heart
fights with my head
and it will always win
I languish in the love
and you thrive in the war
Zero to crazy
in three seconds
is no longer the norm
It must end
It did end
and this is the new dawn

Ingrid is hosting D'Verse Poets tonight and has prompted us with
writing a poem about pain that we have experienced but have come out
on the other side letter and stronger. I went back into my Poetry for
Healing archives as I remembered writing this in October 2019. I think
it fits the prompt.

Indeed… sometimes it has to fully end before it can start again.

This is so poignant! I resonate with the image of “zero to crazy,”.. and have been through it myself. We deserve better 🙂

“Zero to crazy.” These three words gave your poem a wonderful jolt of reality! Well done.

Thanks Helen 💕 I’m sure many of us have witnessed someone going from zero to sixty, if we are honest 😳

I love the way you ended the poem (and the relationship and moved on to a new dawn.)
