Beginning to End
A face once smooth
Creamy as alabaster
now lined and sallow
The thick dark hair
highlighting burnt sienna
becomes thinning and white
Tight skin stretched onetime
over strong muscular limbs
Defying gravity
hanging in crepe folds
Soon the cycle will end
Ashes to ashes

A good reminder of our life here, ashes to ashes!
Yes Grace! 😳
Not yet… we must see another spring.
Hopefully many more! ☺️
But before we go, let us write heart-stirring poems like yours! 💝💝
Aww, thank you Sanaa ☺️💕
The day we are born is the day we start dying. Make the best of it for as long as possible.
Isn’t that the truth? ☺️💕
Such is the passage of time and its effect upon our bodies: elegantly captured, Christine!
Thanks Ingrid ☺️💕
that’s it in a nutshell, Christine.

Thanks David ☺️
Oh, that’s bleak. And real. We’re all heading that way, I guess. Your enforced brevity makes this really clear and powerful.
Yes it was a bit bleak wasn’t it? 😦 Thanks Sarah 💕
And life goes so quickly! Well written!
Thanks Carol ☺️
As is life. Enjoyed reading this quadrille. So relatable.
Thanks Selma. It comes to a point in life when you cannot ignore what is happening to you.
😳
Ah, that’s life. From youth to grave.
Yes Sadje, sad isn’t it? Thanks so much 👍💕
You’re welcome.
Wonderful imagery of aging, and a well written quadrille. 🙂
Thank you so much! ☺️💕
