Oh, this takes me down memory lane. A good friend of mine gave me one of these recipe cards, bringing it out time after time takes me back to her and good fixin’s. Love the nostalgia of this piece, Christine!

Thank you Susi. I think many of us have something tucked away like that. It evokes wonderful memories when we look at it again. ☺️💕
You’re welcome, Christine! Indeed, plus I keep her picture on my dash in my car and on the bookshelf behind me. I keep her “presence” with me all day. <3

This is beautifully done, Christine! I especially like; “Layers of love and the essence of you folded in and stirred.” 💝💝
Layers of love and
the essence of you
folded in and stirred
the absolute essence of this lovely poem. How nurturing, how warm, how generous it is.

Thank you Sarah. I was responding to your comments about your family favorite dishes. I completely related to what you were saying. Sorry I was a little late in posting ☺️💕
Recently, my wife made our daughter’s favorite soup before traveling abroad for work. When I served it to her, I asked, “Do you know what special ingredient Mama put into your soup?” She couldn’t figure it out… But I clued her in 😀

Ah how sweet that is David. Thanks for sharing your ‘love’ story ❤️
Reminds me of my grandmother’s rye bread. The last time she was over we asked her to make it. We watched and took notes. No measuring cups, just a few handfuls of flour, a bit of this and a pinch of that. Hers always came out the exactly the same, My mom, sister, and I have all made it, but it never quite makes the grade.

What a lovely story that is Leon! Thanks for sharing. I remember my mother used to make these amazing dumplings for the stew. I can never replicate them. Food makes wonderful memories doesn’t it? ☺️💕

Really like the sounds, the rhythm, and the story here, all three make this a wonderful, warm read..
Ain, thank you. Food nourishes soul as well as the heart and body. ☺️💕
Some things are really necessary to have…
