Broken
Broken like the wing
of an injured bird
Broken is the silence
of words never heard
Broken like branches of a tree
slowly bent and withered
Crippled by the performance
You so cruelly delivered
Feeling shattered and
broken in a thousand parts
It is the sliver of glass
that is optimism in my heart
A heart left in pieces
after you rendered your speech
You have exited my world
and you are now out of reach
I struggle to sweep away
the fragments of a dream
Scattered in explosion
A world of hope to redeem
Broken is my spirit
at the end of this line
Broken is this heart
You took what was mine

How can one put together a broken pot. It will fix but cracks will remain
I really enjoyed this. Left me wanting more. snaps
Thank you! ☺️
What a wonderful piece! Beautifully written and very profound.
Thank you so much ☺️💕 I appreciate it.
I hope that whatever is broken can be mended… I hope that some branches have simply been bended
Thank you Bjorn! ☺️
A sad beautiful poem, Christine. And yet I found these lines quite profound:
“Broken is the silence
of words never heard”
The silence hasn’t been broken because the words weren’t spoken and yet it’s broken because they needed to be said. That’s pretty wow!! <3
Exactly Sunra. I’m so happy you liked the Poem ☺️
A poignant write, Christine! ❤️
Thank you Punam ☺️❤️
You are welcome, dear. 😊❤️
Oh my heart this is so poignant, Christine! I felt every word.
Thank you so much Sanaa! I’m happy I got the feeling across to the reader. Not that I want you to feel bad of course 🥰☺️
Such a sad lament, Christine!
It was a bit, wasn’t it?! 😧. I’d better cheer things up 🤣
Poignant in its despair, but beautiful as well. It’s strange how many things can be both.
Thank you ☺️ I think that when it’s both it’s because we have felt it. 💔
Agreed.
your reference to the broken wing took me to Martina McBride’s hopeful song…
Oh Dwight that was a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing it with me. I love Martina McBride but had not heard that song. ☺️💕
So glad you enjoyed it. Such a good message that there is hope beyond being stuck in a bad relationship!
It certainly is ☺️
Amazing post Christine💞

Thanks for the song Ivor. What an unusual voice he has. I hadn’t heard him before, but I liked it very much 😊💕
