Protector

Protector

Spread your boughs wide
and encircle me with your span
May your soft leaves
gently caress and comfort me
Protect me with your size
and calm my nerves
with your strength
Feed and nourish me
with your fruits
and keep my secrets safe
with your wisdom

Yes, that’s true. I’ve just been evicted from my rental house because the landlord is selling so I’m feeling a bit edgy about housing at the moment.

A desire for sanctuary found in a calm “embrace”: tender and revealing.

I feel comforted by your vision from this picture. Thank you for “protect me with your size and calm my nerves with your strength”. This reminds me of the steadiness of a favourite Oak tree, too.
