Dangerous Dance – A Quadrille

Dangerous Dance

What is this strange dance
that we always do
Where we circle each other like prey
Staring in silence
Strategizing and preparing
for the inevitable outcome
Throwing verbal darts
while we sidestep and taunt
until one eventually falls
unceremoniously
from the tracks of life

A wonderful metaphor for this toxic relationship and quite an ending! Thank you!

It is the same dance you performed to seduce and excite each other to delve into the glory of promises and the sweetness of the flesh offered naked and alive. – bathed and perfumed.

Yes Rob, you’re right. It’s too bad it can so often turn ugly.

This hits me hard, as I have three teenaged daughters and have heard about so much ugliness—especially in middle school. And of course, I have my own memories.

Oh my gosh Shawna, I’m so sorry. This was about a couple’s toxic relationship and how we can hurt each other. Yes, I can see how this can also relate to school bullying. I know its always been there since we were children but these days it has become so much more dangerous. Sending you love and light ❤️🥰
