Candied Peel
Nonchalant girl
hair twirling
around fingers
Twitching like a fly swat
A mustache held in place
Under nose
With pouted lips
She rolled hair in little buds
Tightly across her crown
Onlookers amused
Boredom leaves
and hair is now the texture
of candied peel

is 'Candy' however we would like to use it. A quadrille is a poem
of exactly 44 words excluding the title.

I think I can see her… I think I do twist my hair (and moustache a bit too much as well)
I fiddle with my hair all the time, particularly when I’m tired! 🤣
A vivid capture! I love the way you slipped “candy” into this unique quadrille.
Thanks Mish. I’m happy you liked it ☺️
Trending hairstyles drive me crazy 🙂
I agree. This girl was just fidgeting with her own hair, the way I often do. I find myself tying it into knots! LOL .
😇😇
Vivid imagery, Christine and you made me chuckle! 😀❤️
Thanks Punam. I was describing myself. I tend to fiddle with my hair when I’m tired 🙂
Lol!
Yes! LOL

Interesting images here. Well done!
Thanks Paula!
