Emboldened
As much as he tried
she refused to waver
Oh so easy to sink back
into material comfort
Those things kept
the wolf from the door
but starved the brain
of nourishment
Emboldened, and with
a shake of the head,
she never looked back

De is hosting Monday Quadrille at D’Verse Poets.
Her prompt tonight is “Bold”
When looked at that way, the choice is easy. The bird in the gilded cage flew the coop 🙂
Yes, sometimes it’s best to have nothing but your own pride ☺️
Old habits die hard. But, if we are emboldened and do not waver, we have a chance!
Yes M Jay. It’s the hardest part. But it’s worth it.☺️💕
Nicely done. Way too easy to slip back into old patterns.
Thanks De ☺️💕
So easy to get stuck in material matters… but we may starve with all the food in the world.
Yes so true. I hate waste of any kind.
Wow! Christine!!! Such a powerful and emotional piece! Wonderful seeds of inspiration! I will always “assume” these are fiction unless you choose to share differently! This put the mental images of two people I love in my head and I intended up with a piece. If you would like me to share it with you, let me know?? See what you inspired??? Your writing is so magical!!!!
Chuck 😊💖🌹🌹
